Grow Digital Voucher Ireland
Up to €5,000 towards eligible software, digital systems, setup and training
The Grow Digital Voucher is a Local Enterprise Office support that can cover 50% of eligible digitalisation costs, up to a maximum grant of €5,000.
It is designed to help smaller Irish businesses introduce new software, improve internal systems, increase efficiency and make better use of digital technology.
However, the voucher is not a general website-design grant. Businesses must first complete the Digital for Business programme, and bespoke website development is not supported.

A business may receive funding for up to two Grow Digital Voucher projects, but the combined grant across both projects cannot exceed €5,000.
What is the Grow Digital Voucher?
The Grow Digital Voucher is a grant delivered through Ireland's network of Local Enterprise Offices.
Its purpose is to help smaller businesses introduce new digital technology that can improve productivity, reduce administration, strengthen customer service and make the business more competitive.
The voucher provides 50% funding towards eligible costs. The minimum grant is €500 and the maximum cumulative grant is €5,000.
- • An eligible €1,000 project could receive a €500 grant.
- • An eligible €4,000 project could receive a €2,000 grant.
- • An eligible €6,000 project could receive a €3,000 grant.
- • An eligible €10,000 project could receive the maximum €5,000 grant.
- • A project costing more than €10,000 would still be capped at a €5,000 grant.
The final eligible project value, treatment of VAT and amount approved will be determined by the Local Enterprise Office. These examples are illustrations only.

You must complete Digital for Business first
A Grow Digital Voucher application does not begin with purchasing software or obtaining a new website.
The published eligibility criteria require the business to have completed a Digital for Business project within the previous two years.
Digital for Business gives the business access to an expert digital consultant who reviews its existing systems, identifies gaps and recommends suitable digital improvements.
The resulting Digital for Business report is used to identify the technology and implementation work that may form part of a Grow Digital Voucher application.

Who may qualify for the Grow Digital Voucher?
- ✓You are an established business operating in Ireland.
- ✓You have been registered and trading for at least six months.
- ✓You operate within the area of the Local Enterprise Office receiving your application.
- ✓You have between 1 and 50 paid employees under the published programme criteria.
- ✓You have completed a Digital for Business project within the previous two years.
- ✓Your business is solvent and can provide appropriate financial statements.
- ✓You have current Revenue tax clearance.
- ✓You are not currently an Enterprise Ireland or IDA client.
- ✓Your business falls within the applicable small-enterprise financial limits.
- ✓Your proposed expenditure relates to eligible digitalisation recommendations.
Companies, self-employed individuals, sole traders and partnerships can potentially qualify. Certain trading charities and sporting bodies may also qualify where they meet the relevant tax and commercial-activity requirements.
The guidance includes self-employed individuals but also refers to businesses with between 1 and 50 paid employees. Ask your Local Enterprise Office to confirm how the employee requirement applies to your particular circumstances.
Small-enterprise and linked-company rules
The published programme guidance applies a small-enterprise financial threshold of no more than €10 million in annual turnover or annual balance-sheet total.
If your business owns, is owned by or is connected with another business, the employee and financial figures of the connected businesses may also have to be included.
Normally uses its own employee and financial figures where relevant ownership links are below 25%.
May have to include a proportion of another business's figures where ownership is between 25% and 50%.
May have to include all of another business's figures where ownership exceeds 50%.

What can the Grow Digital Voucher be used for?
The voucher focuses primarily on new, off-the-shelf business software and the work required to configure, integrate and use it effectively.
Software for selling products or services online, subject to the programme's website and software conditions.
Software for managing enquiries, customers, sales opportunities and follow-up activity.
Systems that allow customers to book, schedule, reschedule or pay online.
Eligible payment technology introduced as part of a wider approved digital project.
Software for scheduling employees, tracking jobs, recording work and managing field-based teams.
Systems for processing orders, monitoring stock and improving fulfilment.
Off-the-shelf cloud software designed for a particular trade, profession or sector.
Systems for managing tasks, approvals, internal processes and responsibilities.
Software for issuing electronic invoices, signing documents and reducing paperwork.
Email, document, spreadsheet and collaboration software where the system is not already used by the company.
Eligible security software introduced to improve the protection of the business and its systems.
Potentially eligible where the business is moving its accounting or payroll systems to the cloud.
Professional 3D modelling and building information modelling software.
Software that helps the business analyse information, automate work or use artificial intelligence.
Software subscriptions must generally be new to the business, off the shelf and supported for a maximum eligible subscription period of one year.
Can setup, integration and training be included?
Yes. The voucher can potentially support expert assistance needed to introduce an approved system successfully.

What does the voucher not cover?
Software developed specifically for one business is not eligible under the published rules.
The voucher does not support an ordinary custom website build or redesign.
Adding more users or licences to software already used by the business does not qualify.
Systems purchased primarily to meet a regulatory obligation do not qualify.
Costs incurred before the application is submitted will not be eligible.
Do not order, contract for, purchase or commence the project before applying.
Hardware, advertising campaigns, ongoing SEO, social-media management and general marketing services are not identified as eligible expenditure in the current national guidance. Obtain written confirmation from your Local Enterprise Office before including any such cost.
Can the voucher be used for a new website?
Not for an ordinary bespoke website.
The official Grow Digital guidance states that bespoke website development is not supported.
Website-related technology may potentially qualify where it involves eligible off-the-shelf software that is new to the business and recommended through the Digital for Business process.

How to apply for the Grow Digital Voucher

Use the free online assessment to understand your current digital readiness and receive a scorecard.
- 2Contact your Local Enterprise Office
Speak to the Local Enterprise Office covering the area where your business is registered and operates.
- 3Apply for Digital for Business
Arrange for a digital consultant to review your current technology, systems and business requirements.
- 4Receive your digital report
The report will identify gaps, suitable improvements and potential digitalisation projects.
- 5Choose the appropriate solution
Identify off-the-shelf software and the setup, integration and training required to implement it.
- 6Prepare your application
Prepare the project description, expected outcomes, costs, supplier information and supporting documents requested by the LEO.
- 7Submit before spending
Submit the Grow Digital application before ordering, contracting for, purchasing or starting any part of the project.
Committing to a supplier or starting the project before submitting the application can cause the expenditure to be ruled ineligible.
- 8Wait for a decision
Do not assume the project has been approved. Wait for the written decision and comply with the conditions provided by the LEO.
- 9Implement and claim
Purchase and implement the approved technology and submit the required claim documentation within the applicable timeframe.
