So you’ve launched your new website Now what? You’re wondering how do I drive traffic to it. How do you get people to visit it? And how do you turn those visitors into leads? Here’s a step-by-step guide to generating traffic to your new site and converting visitors into leads.
1. Create a Landing Page
Ideally your website design should have developed landing pages for you. Sometime your Services pages or your homepage is considered a “landing” page. However I personally like to design & developed dedicated landing pages for each website I build for clients and direct traffic to these pages that are designed to convert your visitors into leads.
Your landing page is the first impression that your audience gets when visiting your site. It’s also the place where you’ll direct them after they land on your site.
In order to make sure that your landing page converts visitors into leads, you must provide clear value to your visitors. For example, you may want to give away a free eBook or lead magnet like a checklist or cheat sheet.
2. Create Content
Content is king when it comes to generating traffic to your site. But content alone won’t drive traffic to your site. To make sure your content gets noticed, you’ll also need to promote it.
3. Optimize Your Website Design
Once you’ve created your landing page, you’ll want to optimize its design so that it stands out among all the rest of the pages on your website.
For example, you may want your landing page to feature a call-to-action button that encourages visitors to click through to another page on your site. Or maybe you’d like to highlight your company logo or brand colors.
4. Build Backlinks
Links are another form of promotion. They’re essentially backlinks to your website. When other websites link to yours, it increases the chances that people will click on your links and visit your site.
5. Add Social Media Links
Social media links are a great way to encourage visitors to share your content across multiple platforms. They also allow you to track how much engagement your posts receive.
6. Use Google Analytics
Google Analytics allows you to monitor visitor behavior on your site. By tracking the number of visits, bounce rate, and conversion rates, you can identify areas of improvement.
7. Promote Your Content
Promoting your content is essential to driving traffic to your landing page. There are several options for promoting your content including social media ads, email blasts, and press releases.
8. Run Paid Search Advertising
Paid search advertising allows you to bid on keywords related to your industry. For example, if you sell software products, you may choose to advertise on terms like “software development tools,” “web design software,” or “mobile app development.”
9. Track Conversions
After you promote your content, you’ll want to measure how well it performs. To do that, you’ll need to install a conversion tracking tool like Google Tag Manager.
10. Measure Results
